This team is a disgrace. When you’re down the bottom you have to at least put up a fight. Nobody is fighting to bust a gut to win the ball back or disrupt the play. We are not even getting the basics right. Set up to play defensive counter attack and we can’t pass the ball, win the ball or get players forward fast enough to join the attack. We can’t even score and scrap out a win. Can’t see any signs most of this team care or want to play for the shirt.
I agree with Taylor not working think he needs a rest even just to change things up. Is Grabban in the Bomb squad?
We all thought it would take a couple of games for hughton to steady the ship and get us going. The scrappy win against Blackburn was welcomed and the springboard really could have been the wins against Wycombe and Coventry. Granted we have had a tough run of games recently but we haven't shown enough whatsoever. We haven't played well and just been unfortunate we have churned out the same performances as we did when Lamouchi had the first 4 games. If you can't score your fucked, if you don't even look like your going to score then your really fucked. There are teams in this league with worse players on paper but they creat chance after chance and score a hell of a lot more goals than us. So the manager has to come up with some way of getting these players ticking, finding a formula to play some football and make some chances and take them
Rick don’t know what the answer is but look at the players he keeps fielding who time after time make shocking mistakes. Even at set pieces around the opponents box we are at risk of conceding. Guerrero, Lolley, Fig, Arter, Christie, Ribeiro, Samba, Yates should have been dropped from the team after making massive howlers at this level but they keep getting put back on the team sheet. Christie is in no definition of the word a footballer. He cannot defend and he cannot cross - all he can manage is to run with the ball and he’s ok at that part. None of these Players are willing to stand up and take responsibility for these results and from the managers interviews I can see why. Why is CH so stubborn about recalling Johnson or playing Mighten? Taylor tries hard but he is not the answer up front (at least on his own).
You can't just recall players when you want. First of all I think it has to be within a transfer window and the club's also have options and clauses for ' can not recall etc' he may have agreed a season long loan as opposed to a half season loan..? I agree I don't know why some of these players are being picked my main gripe is the same way these players are playing. We knew these kind of performances weren't good enough after 2 games into his tenure but yet what change have we seen. With a transfer window around the corner do we stick or twist? Can hughton rally these troops to fight against relegation, would another manager come in and get us playing in a dynamic system that is completely different to what we are doing now? Do we stick a load of teenagers out there and tell them to sort this mess out and put it on their shoulders? God knows all I know is we are going to keep conceding and keep losing games and not score any goals unless something changes, unless something clicks, unless we become fluid and on the same wavelength and get a new found confidence from somewhere. Some of that needs to happen otherwise we will go down.
If we can be fairly confident that hughton will keep us up and get rid of some of the crap we have and bring in some of his own players to start a fresh next season then I say stay with him but it's a big if
Same old from hughton ' we are not getting in enough dangerous positions' do something about it then! Practise it in training and tell them to run beyond each other and have a go at being brave wanting to take it to the other team
Given the recent turnaround in players I don’t think enough of the players have even settled into Nottingham to care whether the club is relegated or not. I would therefore put my faith in those who have a point to prove, not those who are only interested in picking up a retirement package.
We are not unlucky at the moment, it’s all about heads up and playing. The current 11-15 do not have their head in the game and as a result make stupid errors which few other clubs are doing at this level.
If you have a manager with an attacking mentality and a half decent team odds are you will do some kind of damage in the championship. Brentford are a very good attacking team and have been for a number of years before Thomas Frank and since he has come in. But even look at the likes of reading under their new manager, not a great squad but having a decent amount of success. Why can we not employ a manage that wants to be fluid and go at teams. Our tactics are like we have just come up from league 1 and are relegation fodder trying to nick points here and there. It's embarrassing and deeply concerning
But even then it falls to recruitment. We brought in 15 players who need 5 touches on the ball and 2 years to be able to think about what to do with it. Where are the energetic intelligent, think on your feet players like most of the other teams seem to have? The whole of Brentford's midfield and strikers are like having 6 knockaerts on the pitch. We give it 1 knockaert and want him to skip past 3 players and even then when we put the ball on a plate for someone we do our utmost to fuck it up
Totally agree. I thought Ribeiros first touch was bad but Arter gave a master class. His touch was so bad he turned our offensive positions into defensive with 2 touches. Never mind, if we get relegated we can do a Trump and sue for misfortune.
If I was a player putting in half a shift I would be getting a little fed up of the Protection certain players are getting for consistently underperforming. I don’t agree with the softly softly approach.
The manager needs the transfer window to try and bring in players who suit his philosophy, if we get rid of him now then we're just going to end up with another rudderless transfer window that will see us signed anther dozen defensive journeyman players. I would rather we sacked the manager based on his own useless team than Lamouche's useless team.
Do we really think these are Lamouchi’s signings? Why would you kick Lamouchi out for 3 losses against Bristol City, Cardiff and Huddersfield when you have just signed 14 players for that manager. I remember Lamouchi stating similarly but I think he was just doing what he was told to say.
The post match interviews are all the same. Not getting what we deserve.bla bla bla I agree, what we actually deserve is to be smashed by a cricket score every game. Defending today was an insult to any pub team should anyone use that as a comparison. So the answer. To me it's simple, Hughton was the wrong appointment. He is clearly going to keep pushing his plan B make plan A work mindset. Let him go Monday morning and do exactly what we should have done at the beginning of the season and appoint Paul Cook. Look what he did with a shit Wigan team last season, got them within a whisker of staying up because he instilled everything these wage thieves lack at the moment, and Cook would not stand for this whimpering capitulation eek in week out and persist with the madness of exactly the same approach. If we lost, he'd say we were crap and he Will get more out of his players or they will cease to be his players... The would be no more oh poor us we deserved something out of the game, we will keep working harder. Fuck off
We have just appointed a manager with an impeccable record at this level. We could go around in circles trying to establish the reasons for the levels of performance, just like we have the many managers that have gone in the past. But in the end it seems something simply is not right in the highest echelons of the club.
The mercenaries we have recruited to pull on the shirt don’t seem too fussed about our situation and they’re used to the manager taking the flak.
Not sure what the answer is but it’s only a matter of time before the bubble pulls the trigger and we appoint another poor sod to take on this inflated squad of mediocre players. Not sure who would want to take us on and I can’t blame them.
