What kind of shit show should we expect this time?
Our priority must be to trim the squad. We have far too many players on big wages not even in contention. We could easily move on seven or eight without any detriment to the team.
The only signings we should consider are direct replacements for Knockeart or Freeman if they leave the club/are out injured for a few months. The squad should be good enough to stay up. That's the aim.
Of course we need more changes but let's just get this season over with and address the other failures in the summer (full backs, no pace, no energy etc).
Unfortunately, we know this wont happen. The vicious cycle of managers being under pressure and being lucky to get a single window to make changes, means we will see at least 4 or 5 come in.

Honestly a similar player to Ben Watson to dominate and command the central midfield but also dictate the pace and speed of the game. Where possible distribute the ball to open areas, wings and middle of the pitch. In twenty years I have only seen one other player that did a similar job, Jamie Paterson but he was more of a creative player than a holding, defensive midfielder. Harry Arter when playing for Bournemouth, and subsequent loans to Cardiff and Fulham was supposed to be this type of player. Maybe recalling Brennan Johnson could be an answer, but the Manager won't give him the freedom to play his game! *
The other requirement is a young prominent striker with a high goal ratio in the lower leagues or youth academy system. BUT you must play a 4-4-2 system to allow the forward an opportunity to make a partnership and receive clear cut chances, otherwise you'll only strangle his confidence and future prospects. Then it's back to square one again.
*Off topic but Football today, coaching and training especially in the Premiership and Championship put too much emphasis on technique, and playing a certain style of complete football. Unfortunately this stifles the creativity and intuition of innovative free-thinking players. Thus we see many of highly skilled footballers never making the grade, being relegated to Reserves as trouble making or not being a team player!

A new chairman would be a good start.

Grosicki will probably come in as a replacement for Knockaert.
There's plenty of areas we could do with strengthening but the number one priority has to be offloading players.
Somehow we need to rid the club of Clough, Bong, Darikwa, Hefele etc

I don't agree with Knockeart. We already have a replacement for him.....his name is Joe Lolley. In fact, we shouldn't have even signed Knockeart. Playing him means dropping Lolley, and Lolley looks like he's on a major sulk because of this. There were many other areas we needed to strengthen before we looked at a right winger.

It's guaranteed that they won't get what they are on at Forest if they were to move. Nope, sit on your arse, see out your contract, then move on. Bong must be fucking awful. He's played for CH before, but can't get in this Hughton team.

A new chairman would be a good start. What's the issue with Randall?

New owner, new manager and someone who will give our young players a go rather than loaning them all out and bringing a load of over the hill 30 somethings.
This season really has shown how poorly the whole club is run

Well where do i start..I think weve got 3 very good centre halves, average goalie, left back ok..ameobi is ok...midfield is poor we need 2 players who can pass and do the things midfield players should do..Taylor and grabs ok...Lolley i think has lost a yard of pace and is now easy to defend against,Knockart is the only player weve got whose natural instincts is he wants to go forward once receiving the ball..sadly the rest are shite and are playing in a division they just arnt good enough for,Hence we are where we are..

One thing we need to do is shift our transfer dealings to a focus on what’s right for Nottingham Forest on the football pitch as opposed to what lines the pockets of mercenary agents, washed up players and deals designed to confuse the tax man.
I’m hoping we hardly buy anyone and spend some money on paying up contracts to help us drop the size and age of the squad. They’re ultimately costing us more than we’re paying them.

Dane not sure if you put it about lolly to replace Knockaert he has been awful under this manager At the moment he looks every penny the 400k we paid for him I've seen us linked with a few wingers on twitter, including Lewis Morgan, definitely feels like an area CH will try and strengthen.

I'm reading Jack Byrne of Shamrock Rovers is torn between us and Mick McCarthy's Apoel, offers from Stoke and Preston he's not interested in. Midfield playmaker, scores goals too. Was at Man City then came back to Ireland to reignite his career. League of Ireland I know but head and shoulders above anyone else in it by a mile. Free agent as of January 1st. Young, hungry, talented and with a big point to prove judging by interviews I've read.

Dane not sure if you put it about lolly to replace Knockaert he has been awful under this manager Of course Lolley has been awful under this manager, the manager replaced him with Knockeart without even giving him a chance, thus demoting him to the bench. A proper smackdown for probably our best player over the past couple of years. Knockeart hasn't been much better than Lolley, so why on earth did we sign him? He's a shadow of the player I've seen in the past. Mind you, there are so many players under performing for CH. The tactics are boring the shit out of them. Seriously, who can we sign in Jan who will excel in such a defensive setup? Maybe a 6' 5" striker to try and get on the end of the ball hoofed up to him, but what would the point of that be if he's isolated up front? I'd be happy if we got rid of ten and signed nobody.

There is no surge to the playoffs this year, just safety. We are lacking basics that should be in this list of players skills and the manager’s ability to bring it out. I’m not sure new players will solve this problem and even if it would, we have recruiters that can’t tell steak from doghsit.

I don't think it matters who forest bring in Hughton will always favour Yates Figs and Christie for some reason and it is the reason why forest fail so dramatically whenever these 3 are involved
Yates, is just a useless clumsy negative oaf he can't pass wind let alone a ball 5 yards Christie is good a running forward but his crossing is woeful and his defensive attribute is shocking Figs, well just how he has made the rank of professional is a joke
others like Ewok Mighten just don't cut it for me the academy produces lots of players but none of any real quality that succeed at forest
Sow is just a disaster waiting happen awful player Lolley is just pathetic Colback as above Ribero as above
the whole team could be sold and not one single player would be missed thats how bad they are, of course its only my opinion
