I am not saying Houghton is the man to take us forward, but if we sack him with the transfer window about to open we will just have another rudderless transfer window and another new mediocre manager who doesn't have time to assess the squad to identify its strengths and weaknesses.
Stoke didn't test our back line half as much as I thought they would and we were markedly better in the second half and at times looked like we would threaten to play some football. Cafu missed a sitter and we had so many 2 on 1/ 3 on 2 situations at the end but of course nothing looked like materialising. Would have took a point before kick off and would have taken a point at half time but again would we have ever threatened their goal if it wasn't for that own goal? Very much doubt it.
