Are we fuck solid at the back corncobguy, yesterday on two or the three occasions (and I only saw the second half) a Preston player waltzed through three... four... Five players like they were from Forests womens team only to hit the bar with the resultant shot or Smaba saving our skin. The usual array of pointless free kicks gifted on the edge of the box, Cafus regular first half booking and Forest defenders losing out on 90%/10% in their favour challenges. Only saving grace yesterday was we were as lucky as a skip full of black cats. Not one shot on target from open play to cap it off. I just hope Hughton has the balls to replace the obvious dross players in this window. If he does he might begin to make some progress with this team.. I don't think he has the spine for a major clear out beginning in January.
Didn't see the game but that's a cracking three points. There's perhaps a bit of a sign that we're turning things around a bit.
First objective is to get us solid which Hughton seems to be doing. It won't be pretty but if we can just get to the end of the season staying up then we can build from there.
Preston hit the bar twice with good efforts, a couple of occasions they were 6 yards out and opted to pass instead of shooting and we managed to somehow got blocks in and got away with it and samba made a couple of crucial saves. We didn't test the keeper apart from making him pick the ball out the back of the net. On another day we could have lost 4-1 or even 4-0 as the penalty shouldn't have stood, carbon copy of Kieran dowell when he scored pen at Trent end v arsenal if memory serves me right although less obvious. Suppose tho in other games this season is it was 'another day' we would have put the ball in the back of the net a few more times when we should have ( Rotherham I think being one). But by hook or crook we got 3 points and another game unbeaten nothing much to sing about tho
