The Mauritanian was good mate try that
Also, I am not a big fan of series - other than the sopranos I get fed up with them and didn’t enjoy The Wire, Prison Break or Breaking Bad 🤷🏻♂️
But I really likes Succession if you haven’t seen it - brilliant - 10:10
I did like the first season of Sneaky Pete but again got bored by the second one

Oh, it's unusually busy on here. I can't be bothered to quote people, I'm sure you can work out who I'm replying to....
The first contestant went for.....Africa. The second one had a whole round of hearing other people going for Spain, China, Brazil, whatever and having had several minutes to think of any country in the World with a border went for.....'The UK?'. Amazing.
What annoys me about Pointless is how rather than just say "this is the last in the current series we're back in the autumn" or whatever they just switch from new episodes to repeats without any warning and deliberately chose a repeat where the jackpot is the same amount hoping to get away with people not realising it's now repeats. Trying to fool their own viewers. Pathetic.
I've seen 'Before I Go to Sleep' and '71. Both decent. I know The Wanderers is a cult classic and it's the kind of film I'd normally have seen but I never have. I'll add it to the list. I've got series one of Succession waiting too.
I'm not seen many films lately and I've got a big backlog to get through. Will report back all the old shit I've watched and not enjoyed.....

They had an 80’s movie countdown show on tv a few nights back and whilst there were some decent films on there I was bit disappointed to see the Police Academy films weren’t on there. Yes I know they weren’t going to win any Oscars but they used to crack me up. Surely a part of film history that needs to be celebrated?

I don't know what either of those words mean. I'm going to assume it's some kind of flamboyant hat. Rather undermining my earlier stance on sequels I feel I should confess I once paid to see Police Academy 6 at the cinema. I'd say the Police Academy films were significant enough to merit a mention in the comedy segment of an 80s film countdown but basically they were all rubbish. Right, I've seen....... A Quiet Place - A family have to live without making a sound while hiding from blind but very noise sensitive monsters in unusually quiet thriller/horror type thing. I found this a bit of a frustrating watch as I had quite a few questions about this scenario which went largely unanswered. Although the tension/thriller parts were all pretty well done. Bonus quarter for a little easy to miss shot where you get a glimpse of the shelves in a deserted shop and all the crisps have been left. 6.75/10 Scarborough - A teenage girl with an older man and teenage boy and older woman check in to the same hotel and the action switches between the two couples in fairly dull British student teacher affair based drama. It's fine I suppose but it's hard to really care much about what's going on, it would help if anyone, especially the blokes, was a bit more interesting or likable. I'll go 5/10 Open Windows - Increasingly tedious internet based thriller. Frodo Baggins wins a date with Sasha Grey, she cancels, then some guy phones him up and lures him into doing some stuff on his laptop, some hackers appear from nowhere, some other shit happens, and things get increasingly sinister. To be honest I didn't fully know what was going on for quite a lot of this, but I'm not sure anyone involved did either. It's mostly seen on a laptop screen or security cameras which adds a slightly annoying gimmick to a confusing, pointless and increasingly unbelievable story. 3/10

I've just seen Countdown with new host Anne Robinson. What the hell is that?! I assumed on 'The Weakest Link' she was just putting on a kind of panto baddie persona to go with the nature of the programme but it turns out that was simply her actual personality. I now suspect The Weakest Link initially employed her to fill the usual quiz show presenter role of just being a standard warm and friendly host and it was sheer good fortune that her total lack of charm and communication skills just happened to match the format of the show and the programme's success was a total fluke.

I think the Botox has been overdone to the extent that not only does her face not work, she can no longer sit up in the chair. Back to the telly, Hit and Run. Israeli tour guide’s American Wife, killed in a hit and run accident. Funnily enough it’s not that simple. Haven’t finished it yet but a tidy 7.5 so far.

I've started watching Reservation Dogs which is Taiki Waititi's latest TV show. It's about a group of young Native American's, one of their group died and they decide to save enough money so that they can all get away from the Reservation and go to California. It's good so far, just been picked up for season 2. Funny, I like it. Season 3 of What We Do In The Shadows (another Taiki Waititi show) has just started in the US as well. Love it

I remember someone on a podcast mentioned Hit and Run, and I'm going to say it was Bob Mortimer. Right I'm seen
The Snarling - Bodies start turning up when they're filming a horror movie in the village in low budget British comedy. There's nothing particularly new or interesting going on and at first glance it looks like it might be a bit shit I actually quite enjoyed it, it's got a nice deadpan style and some decent jokes. 6/10
Puzzle - A mother enters a jigsaw competition in a domestic drama type thing that's better than I just made it sound. 6.5/10
Lynn and Lucy - Two young women have been friends since school, things change after the birth of a baby in bleak British drama. It's got a natural gritty feel to it and there's a lot to like, although it will not be a barrel of laughs. 7.5/10

I remember really loving Police Academy 5 when i was a kid. It was my fave of the series, although i couldn't tell you why now I occasionally consider watching them all again but never quite get bored enough to do it Anna - Another Luc Besson unstoppable super hot girl story. This one is an unstoppable super hot girl recruited by the KGB to do unstoppable super hot girl assassination stuff for them, but she inevitably tires of it and wants out. I actually quite liked this, it's highly unoriginal of course, but what the hell. Some fun scenes, action and an unstoppable super hot girl. 7/10 The New Mutants - An X-men story, but one that doesn't have any of the characters from the big blockbuster films. Some teens with special powers are being kept in an enclosed complex supposedly until they learn to control their powers but when a new girl arrives and weird stuff starts happening they start to think something else is going on. The IMDB rating for this is really low but I really enjoyed it and after reading some of the reviews it seems it's low because it apparently doesn't follow the comics and people threw hissy fits about it which always makes me laugh I generally like stories of people with powers and this one different to the big blockbusters. 7/10

This is sort of an "un-recommendation" but don't watch the adverts, it's only 1st October and they're already showing Christmas ads. I love Christmas, I really do, but October is just too soon to be getting in the festive spirit.

Free Guy - A Non-Playing-Character in a game becomes sentient and attempts to save his world/game from being destroyed for a sequel. There's a real world plot about code theft as well. It was only Ok, looked great from the trailers but i quickly got bored with the premise. Still some laughs though. 6/10

Nobody watches live tv anymore do they? I haven't really seen any adverts since about 1992. Apart from the ones on Sky Sports, and they consist entirely of bookmakers, erectile dysfunction, and hair loss. And I'm only really interested in two of those....
Right, I've seen..
Promising Young Woman - A young woman seeks vengeance against those responsible for a tragic event from her past in blackly comic thriller drama type thing. Liked that. 7.5/10
The Signal - Three friends on a long road trip try to track down a mysterious hacker, then things get weird in sci-fi mystery drama thriller type thing. The more sci-fi thrillery it got the less interested I became. It's not for me. I'll go 5/10
Make Up - A teenage girl grows increasingly suspicious while staying with her boyfriend at a caravan park in British drama psychological thriller type thing. I's very slow but I liked it 6.5/10

Rocks - A teenage girl is abandoned by her mother in British drama. Nice natural style about it, liked that 7/10
The Death of Stalin - The scramble for power following the death of Stalin in Armando Iannucci historical comedy drama type thing. Good. 8/10
Skin - Billy Elliot has grown up to be quite the racist in white supremacist drama based on a real person's life. It's all a bit shallow and feels a bit of a missed opportunity, but it's watchable enough. 6/10

In terms of series in my view Gomorrah which is on Sky Atlantic is a different level. Naples drugs wars. Genuinely edge of your seat stuff. I would have it as my favourite series/box set of all time. Even puts the Sopranos in the shade. Can't recommend it enough. www.imdb.com/title/tt2049116/

I've got the film of Gomorrah somewhere. I don't think it's by, or with, the same people though... In other news there's a new series of Stath Lets Flats on Four. It won't be for everyone but I like it
