Absolutely fucking mental. Queuing all day to look at a flag over a box. I managed to stomach 5 minutes bbc coverage this morning, and 2 women even brought along their dead husbands ashes to pay their respects also.

Any thoughts on how Liz Truss is doing? I’ll say this much: whatever you think of how she’s doing or perhaps even how she came to be in power, if the lawfully appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom can’t run the country as they chose to because the “markets” start clucking, then there is something seriously wrong with British democracy.

I'm keeping an eye on the performance from the new Italian government. Its the kind of outfit this country needs. After over 12 years of conservatives, we've become more left wing than ever. Absolute madness.

Maybe it’s a matter of perspective but when I look around I don’t see the UK as being a particularly left wing country? What particular aspect of Britain under the Conservatives do you regard as left wing?

A new Prime Minister appointed and not so much as a post to acknowledge it? 🙁
Would have been a 10 pager back in the day.

Are we, as in the country, fucked? Should we give up caring about society/ state of the economy?
It just feels like everything gets worse every year. I can't remember the last time I had any kind of optimism about where this county is going.
Infrastructure is crumbling and public services continue to need more money each year, to offer less efficient services.
The economy has hardly grown since 2009. Any businesses of value tend to be gutted before being outsourced to East Europe. There is no desire within Westminster to make any of the reforms drastically needed.
There is little incentive for people to work or actually try and add value to the economy. The tax burden is the highest for 70 years, while benefits and perks for unemployed go up each year.
We are powerless to stop migrants coming to this country or return them due to 'human rights'. Blair's multiculturalism experiment has failed but there is no way of undoing the damage. It almost seems like Pakistani grooming gangs, race wars, black gang culture and Albanian drug cartels are accepted as par for the course.
The cherry on the cake is spending 400 billion+ on protecting people from what was essentially the flu. Bravo. Who would have thought closing down the country would come back and bite us in the arse
There is very little to seperate labour and tories really. They both exist to manage decline rather than attempt to make our lives better
