Fair play to the lads, gave it there all, if zinks stuck that chance away who knows we may have been able to hold on, hell of a journey, bit of a rest and back into training for the march toward the premier League!

We gave a good account of ourselves and with a bit more quality in front of goal we could have got a draw

We can hold our heads up high but I can’t help but think we were hard done by with some of the decisions.
In this day and age of VAR I’ve seen less offside goals than that ruled out, likewise I’ve seen penalties like the one Yates was denied given.

Yeah one angle from VAR had him clearly off another out him clearly on. With yates, I think against us we would have been saying " he's deliberately dragged his foot along the floor so keeper would make contact" but with it being us against the big side Liverpool you were willing them to give it as he does make contact at the end of the day and he is running at pace and puts him out his stride. You could see Liverpool's quality but I think effort and desire and the chances that we did have we deserved to get a goal in this game. Can't put any fault on anyone, I admire our desire to play out from the back but on another day we could have been punished a couple of other times losing the ball in our defensive 3rd. We dine boys, catch your breath and let's boss the rest of our league games! |

Absolutely superb effort, I thought Colback and Worrall especially were fantastic today.
It really came down to fine margins. Zinck should have buried that chance all day long and Yates should have done better with his header too.
Jota offside and the penalty shout were close, but probably just about right.
No real complaints though. We're playing one of the three best teams in the world, the fact we went toe to toe speaks volumes about us at the moment.
All in all, probably came out of this run with an extra 2m in the bank and tons of extra belief. Come on you reds.
