The players recently have looked tired, jaded, and slightly exhausted but the season is finally coming to it's conclusion. Undoubtedly our opposition are in a similar position, but teams demoted from the Premiership - Bournemouth, Fulham etc have a distinct advantage with a depth of squad. Yesterday Bournemouth had the all the advantages, playing at home, deliberately over-watering the pitch and only requiring a draw, thus could play a disruptive, holding game that severely disadvantaged Nottingham Forest. The concern is that other Play-Off teams could use similar negative tactics as emphasized at Luton, whereby hinder our fast, open, expansive, passing game could be stalled through specifically man-marking players, deliberate fouling and aggressive, physical tactics. Could we win the play-offs? Honestly we stand a reasonable chance, but there are too many variables especially the pedigree of Refereeing that could easily impact our chances.
You can’t commit 2 defenders to Spence, Johnson and Davis!
Tbh, I’d rather have a recovering Davis available over a recovering Grabban. Unless Grabban’s on top form, Davis’ ability to play people in and free up other players to score is worth more than Grabban’s goals imho.
