Just been listening to commentator and forest fan Darren Fletcher on Garibaldi red podcast and agree that next season's squad needs to be made up of with the majority of current players. Yes we need signings but the current squad know how and what cooper wants and have the best chance of hitting the ground running.
Which players would we want to see come to forest?
Morgan Gibbs- white would be near the top of my list to play that number 10 role. Obviously worked with cooper before too.

I would pay the heavy price to get Kalvin Phillips from leeds, Garner will be gone and Phillips is a perfect replacement.

Just seen on SSN that in the last hour Spence has said he would love to return to forest but it is out of his hands.

What I don't want to see us do ( and I don't think we will under this new regime of Dane and cooper) is bring in loads of foreign journeymen to help us stay in prem. I think we need to make some smart youthful signings that have prospects such as Gibbs white. Again on Garibaldi red they were talking about possibly the notion of some of the better players from olympiacos possibly plying their trade in prem but I'm not sure we should go back to that kind of process and I'm not sure Dane and cooper would welcome that, all be it some of their best players are are good and have champs league experience etc.
I heard we were interested in Joe rothwell for free from Blackburn, liked the look of him over past couple years. Maybe our heads are turned to a different kind of player now we know we are a prem club though.

Would love to see cooper pull a few strings and get some of those players he had at England youth that aren't getting regular game time... Off the top of my head the likes of:
Callum Hudson odoi Harvey Elliot Curtis jones

I would pay the heavy price to get Kalvin Phillips from leeds, Garner will be gone and Phillips is a perfect replacement. A replacement for Garner might be a good one to look at. Last few games he’s looked a little bit lost and he’s been losing his man in the later games where we needed everyone to be on it. Also some of his dead balls have been a bit wayward. I liked the look of Gibbs White. I got nervy every time he had the ball and was skinning our boys or drifting away into a dangerous spot in the pitch. Agree too that we should concentrate on a few bits of quality rather than a wholesale change so Cooper can see how it will fit together and work out what is and isn’t working. We won’t have the luxury next season of being able to drift for a while whilst we work out what we’re doing. I suspect we’re going to need every point come the end of the season.

Billy Gilmour has been on loan at Norwich from Chelsea. Would be great to get him if Chelsea loan him again later Hough I realise we need a few signings too.

We need a bigger squad of prem quality players to call on, that's for sure. 3 or 4 quality, seasoned internationals in the key positions (right back, central midfield, #10 and striker imho) plus some prospects/loanees.
Aaron Ramsey would be worth a look if Juve rescind his contract. Lingard and Eriksen both out of contract. I reckon Phillips would cost too much. For strikers maybe Brereton Diaz or that Watford lad Dennis has had a decent season. Spence aint worth £20m. Tarwoski available if we need a centre back.

Is there any indication as to just how much the club / Marinakis are able to invest in new players?

Is there any indication as to just how much the club / Marinakis are able to invest in new players? I believe Premier clubs can lose £130m over a 3 year period, as opposed to £39m in the Championship.

I read about a month ago that Forest were going to sign him regardless of what league we are in next season.

I reckon we need a quality left wing back, and a quality left sided midfielder, I don't think Zink could hack it in the Prem, even a relegated club didn't want him. This will balance the team up with Johnno and Spence, (if we sign him), on the right. A replacement for Garner as I believe he'll be heading back to United. A quality striker. I don't know if we'll sign Davis, but he isn't really an out and out striker, and could Surridge cut it in the Prem? I'm not so sure, although he'll be a good squad player and will give his all when called upon.
Are Yates and Colback good enough for the Prem? Yates has improved immensley this season and you would hope there's more improvement in him. Colback couldn't get into a poor Newcastle side in the Prem.
At least this time around we have Murphy and Cooper, and I trust them to bring in the right players, and not 20 players we've never heard of who are past it, or never even had it.

This is also the time to think about the likes of Lolley, Mighten and Cafu who are regular subs but to name a few. We will probably have a small clear out and a few on loan players leaving so I would reckon round about 6 or more new players will be arriving.

I know it's been a long time coming but let's try and keep it semi-realistic. Forest are not going to be signing Kalvin Phillips For clubs who've been promoted after several years of steady progress (eg Sheff Utd, Brentford) I think it's best to change as little as possible but let's face it, we've gone up out the blue on the back of crazy run of form and a team of loan players so we're going to need quite a bit. Even if we can sign Spence and get Garner for another year I'd say we're still going to need an absolute minimum of four quality players.

I mentioned Billy Gilmour as well yesterday. He's always been highly rated by anyone he plays for. Not sure what he was expected to do in a crock of shit Norwich side. If I was any premier league top side, I'd be looking at how Cooper improves players and would be happy for any of my young players to play for him. That said, we don't want to end up with too many loans. I actually think we could get Gilmour on a permanent as I doubt he's going to get in the Chelsea starting XI.

Exactly, though if we all listen to what other fans think then we would never had got Surridge as he could get nowhere near there team. Coopers signings have been very good so far so I am more than Han happy with who he brings in.
