If you fancy a laugh forest are 40/1 to beat city next wednesday. Palace leading them 2-0 at the Etihad so far- maybe their heads will be down in Wednesday 🤔 ha

40/1 While twerps in the media will continue to go on about how the Premier League is so competitive, no easy games etc. I can remember in the 90s a newly promoted club at Man United would be around 8/1. Anyway, there must be a fair chance Haaland will get a rest for this as it's first midweek game with Villa away and the Champions League to come next week. Hope we drop one of the front three and bring in Freuler or Kounate for an extra midfielder. Could be a long night....

If we score it will be like a win. I'm going for a 4-1 loss with Morgan Gibbs- white to open his account and we all start dreaming then get taught a lesson by the masters

No expectations for this one. Anything other than a heavy defeat is a bonus.

If we score it will be like a win. It really won’t. A draw, on the other hand, might feel a bit more like a moral victory of sorts. Possession will be key. I’m not usually one to play arm chair manager but I’d like to see a five man midfield with Freuler and Mangala starting.

If we score it will be like a win. Surely we are better than having these types of expectations - I was listening to 606 on the way home from the game on Sunday and one fan claimed the Spurs game was a "fantastic result" because we were competitive! Yes we the performance was positive, but we still lost! I know we have been through 23 years of heartache but surely we don't see things like playing well or scoring as a good result?! I think Cooper will have a game plan, I don't expect a positive result but you never know!

I don't expect city to let us have the ball as much as spurs did at the weekend but if we can continue to try and play like we did and show that we have worked on trying to be a bit more threatening in the box then I will take that. I think we need to pack the midfield a bit more, doesn't sound like mangala will be available for a couple of games, mind you we have heard that all before. I still think the difference in quality will shine through and I'm a little nervy of our back 3 against them. 4-1 city, Gibbs white to score

About £150m spent on 18(?) players, yet 6 of tonights starting line up played in the Championship last season. Also, no striker again tonight.
Man City 5-0 Forest
Let's get this one out of the way and concentrate on the next 5 games where we should be picking up points. Those games will be a good indicator on how far we have progressed, or not.

Well can't work out whether it's a change of system to a back 4 or not or whether kouyate drops into a back 3...
Henderson Williams Worrall McKenna Lodi Kouyate Yates Freuler Gibbs white O'Brien Johnson
For city, de bruyne benched but a ridiculous side including Haaland and Alvarez both up top

I questioned it earlier and a mate informed me that Kouyate has played the centre half role for the last 2 seasons.

Thought would be, I think that's the best option, BT sport saying it will be damageimitation- can't argue too much against it really but it would be great to surprise everyone and give them a game. COYR, go into it with fully behind them regardless and no matter the outcome I will be proud and looking on to the next game

Well from the outside looking in we have said city are class, but just look at them playing against us. They are miles above spurs, unlucky that the tackle falls to Haaland but this is a masterclass that could get dangerous

If you were thinking we should be looking for a point out of this game I hope you are watching. How on earth can we compete against this level. 3-0 Haaland hat trick

I must say I have been really disappointed with Worrall. He is not good enough for this league. We keep breaking the bank with forwards and should have done it with a centre back

I must say I have been really disappointed with Worrall. He is not good enough for this league. We keep breaking the bank with forwards and should have done it with a centre back In this game or in general? I don't think there is a single thing we can do in this game, it's not just about the performance on the night it's the level of training, ability, fitness, mentality, togetherness and loads more components. I previously said that if we scored it would be like a win as a bit of a tongue in cheek comment, but I'm more inclined now to say it's a serious statement. This looks like a training game, and that isn't having a go at our lads, this city team are just a machine. We physically can't hold onto the ball and play it around, their intensity is frantic, every single player is comfortable on the ball wherever they are on the pitch. They are 10x the individuals and 10x the team. All I am hoping for in the second half is to make Edison pull off a decent save, a goal would be magic. And erling haaland- what a fucking beast he is! He will probably have 20 goals by end of september

How on earth can we compete against this level. 3-0 Haaland hat trick It’s possible but we’re paying them too much respect and sitting back too much. At times it looks like we’re playing with a back eight.

Quite aside from the football I wish our supporters would stop singing City Ground! It makes no sense at the best of times, never mind when away at Manchester!

Honestly, I know with the score 4-0 people may laugh but we’re making them look better than they are by sitting back and letting them do what they want with the ball.
