In all fairness, their first was unstoppable, there 2nd happened when we had 10 players on the pitch, a much better chance of getting it cleared had Yates been there instead of waiting to come back on.. And the 3rd resulted from a mistake by McKenna, it happens. Circumstances went against us.
I was fucking pig sick all the way home in the car Saturday night. Me and my lad barely said a word to each other.
For the first time ever I think I'd be critical of Cooper with regards this defeat. For me, he's far too loyal to the players who got us up last season. I get why but things have to change. I like Yates but I don't think he should be starting.
FFS we have a champions league midfielder sat warming the bench. Next game, I'd be looking at starting pretty much all of the new lads and include Kouyate and Boly at the back (though I thought Kouyate was brilliant in the middle). Cook is past it in the prem, I like the guy but he can't recover quick enough. Worrall needs to get up to the speed of games, he's slowing play down far too much.
Get Awoniyi starting and scaring the shit out of defences. He looked lively against the hammers and Zouma was scared of him.
Cooper can't keep picking the old guard. Basically playing half a championship team in the prem. Without the loans last season, that half of the team wouldn't have got us promoted, so I don't know why Cooper would think they're collectively good enough for the prem.
I still have faith though in the gelling and hopefully picking a more settled side.
