If you're going to concede 3 goals in 5 mins you are fucked. Commentary saying cooper very negative from the first whistle and nothing like the forest from last season. Another 2-3 defeat to fellow championship promotees. It's not looking good at the moment. Need some serious work doing over international break
22 players signed surely we signed better then than what we originally had last season. Our defence and defensive midfield can not cut the premier league so let’s pass over to the new signings please. Good decision to take Worrall and Lingard off this match but Cook and co need to follow.
Williams needs to do more in his position or should be dropped. Johnson likewise, may be a fan favorite last season but Dennis may add more cutting edge.
Don’t think this is on the manager I think some of the players are letting him down.
We knew it would be tough but this is two games in a row we have led against fellow promoted sides and lost. We have an England international on huge wages on the bench which is down to him not performing to his ability. We also led at Everton but could not get over the line. Hoping somehow this is addressed! How, I don't know as I am not the manager and refuse to post what players should or should not play as surely the manager must know his best team. Still lots of games to go but really need points in the bag asap
Moan moan moan again. It didn't take long for Yates to become the scapegoat for everything that went wrong again. This is the Premier league. 4th from bottom is success. KTF!
The correct attitude!
We're going to improve as the season goes on. All things being equal we'll earn more points after Christmas once the squad is settled. We just need to stay in touch. Morale and positive support will be key.
We have better centre mids than Yates and he was at error for at least 2 of the goals last night. But what can Cooper do? He has to keep the core of the squad that got us promoted intact for now or the team will lose any momentum and the positive culture.
In every game so far (except Newcastle and Man City) we've played some classy, positive stuff - and it's been entertaining! Then there are the patches where we look like a mishmash of new players. Relax. It will come together. In Coops we trust.
Cooper is clearly a man capable of building a winning squad. This season was always going to be an immense challenge, but given time I am sure Cooper can either keep us up, or bring us back up next season. My biggest concern is that we pull the plug, find some over the hill manager to take us down and then spend another 20-years making the same mistakes we have for the 20-years before last season.
That's my main concern too. I wish we'd spent a lot less ready to reassess in January, knowing worst case scenario we'd go down with a stronger side than the one that came up, and be starting next season with Cooper in charge, a similar squad, and as one of the favourites for promotion.
As things stands now I can't see us sticking with Copper if we're obviously going down. I'm expecting a survival gamble sacking with some proven Premier League character coming in. Dyche or Rodgers probably best options.
On that note I hope Rodgers hangs on over the International Break and we don't have to play Leicester first game under the new manager effect like we did Bournemouth....
