Now that we are 12 league games in what are your thoughts on him? I think we have seen a few small glimpses, but overall very inconsistent from a very experienced player. If we can get him playing at his best and keep improving ourselves then we can climb the the table. After Saturday and even previously it is now clear that Lingard, MGW and Johnston was not working and we need a striker to lead the line. Still hope he can find his best form as MGW is looking better each game.

Only thing I would say in his defence is that he probably works best in a quick counter attacking side and we have been quite slow to progress the ball
But no escaping the fact he's been poor and anonymous in most games. Biggest disappointment from the transfer window

He doesnt have the attributes to play wide, in my opinion. Not enough pace or skill on the ball. Played poorly on the left for Utd.. all his good moments came from behind the striker. For West Ham too. His attitude has been good the past 2 games.
If we only had room for Lingard or MGW in the first team, who should start?

If we only had room for Lingard or MGW in the first team, who should start? Lingard hasn't justified his 90k a week, and MGW hasn't justified his £25m+ price tag. Both have been disappointing.

Got to agree especially after the Arsenal game, I keep thinking we are going to get a big performance out of Lingard but once again he misses a really good chance and disappoints. MGW seems okay until we go behind but could say that about most others.

I thought he was excellent last night. He is not a striker or a winger - we need to use him transitioning defence to attack at pace with forwards in front of him. Start him there against Palace with say Dennis and Sturridge in front of him and we will get goals

I'm sure many of you have watched it, but I've only got round to watching it... His documentary on channel 4 ' Jesse lingard the untold story' 45 min documentary of his struggles over past couple of years. It gives a decent insight into what kind of person he is and his journey. Certainly made me want to back him even more.
