Fair play for admitting you expected more, but given before he joined us he only managed to score every 3.5 games for a team who were relegated, what exactly were you expecting from him? 🤔 |

Saw the highlights from last season with Watford and he showed much better finesse and control than we have seen to date (sure highlights don’t include the lowlights so might have been one offs). However, before signing for us there were rumours that his attitude stinks and Watford were looking forward to getting rid of him so silly that we snapped him up.
Surridge, Dennis and £40k per week Arter off our books and we might be able to get another decent striker in).

I wouldn’t get rid of Surridge - I think he still deserves a chance. With Dennis he played every game for Watford as a striker so over a season most half decent players would get some goals. I am not a fan but he has been largely used as a sub of the left wing for us so not really had a chance. I won’t be sad to see him go but would defo keep Surridge

Dane Murphy stepping down from club so he won’t be blamed for any of our signings this month….. sounds a pretty swift departure given the statement says ‘I’m never been any good at goodbyes…..’

From the sounds of his statement it was amicable and by mutual consent - he was at pains to thank the Marinaki's but didn't mention Cooper, curiously. As CEO he was ultimately responsible for last summer's transfer policy so that may have weighed in on things. I wish him the best whatever the reasons. He's done good work for this club.

From the sounds of his statement it was amicable and by mutual consent - he was at pains to thank the Marinaki's but didn't mention Cooper, curiously. As CEO he was ultimately responsible for last summer's transfer policy so that may have weighed in on things. I wish him the best whatever the reasons. He's done good work for this club.  |

Rumour mill kicking into action.
Word has it we're close to signing Palmieras 21 year old centre mid Danilo for £18mn. Linked with Atl Madrid and Arsenal over the summer. Sticking point is they want to loan him back for 6 months.
The other one doing the rounds is 20 year old Montpellier centre half Maxime Estève. £11mn turned down, allegedly.
Thoughts, people?

The worry is that they're two young players from overseas, which might not hit the ground running.
I'd pass on the CB but Danilo is worth a punt by the sounds of it
Also linked with Danjuma from Sevilla, would be great if we can get that over the line

Hearing we want Danilo on loan with option to buy. We already have yates, frueler and mangala for that position so im surprised its a priority.Danjuma would be great but cant see him wanting to join us. |

O'Brien is linked quite heavily with West Brom so you might expect him to move if Danilo goes ahead.
Mangala, Freuler and Yates have been great recently but if anyone gets injured we'd be in a bit of trouble.
Priority now must be getting a striker/forward in.

Me niether. He's consistently average. Yates on the other hand seems to be improving rapidly. And Mangala for that matter.
Reports linking us with Brereton Diaz. Was gutted when he left but could he cut it now in the PL?

Brilliant work though as I believe the transfer fee is paid over the duration of the contract and if he is as good as people say he is/ will be then we have tied him down for a long time and should get a big resale value |

Rumours of us after Newcastles Chris Wood 31. Not the target I imagined we would be after unless a loan option. Need a pacey striker with experience in PL if possible.
