SSN breaking news.
Felipe has signed.
Undisclosed fee reported not to be big as had 6 months left on contract. 18 month contract. Sounds good to me.

Navas deal done.
Loan till end of season
Edit- forest are confident they have registered Navas in time... We have heard this before haven't we with grosicki...?
Surely they just had to submit a deal sheet for an extra hour?

Navas fully confirmed. 6 month loan. Whatever you think we have a 1 and 2 of Henderson and Navas vice versa. Last season I thought we were going to league 1.

Any outgoings at all? O'Brien hasn't been confirmed, Toffolo's transfer didn't go through and despite twitter chat there were no moves for Cook, Taylor, Cafu or Jordan Smith.
If nothing else is confirmed then by my take we have 31 players over 21, when the squad is capped at 25. That's probably 125k being pissed away each week.
I'll try not to be too negative... i guess we don't want to go down blaming injuries, and on balance I'd take Navas/Felipe over the likes of Championship stalwarts such as Diakhaby and Bonatini
The experience yesterday's three new signings will bring can't be underestimated

So that's six to leave out then. Taylor, Cafu, and Smith will be three. I assume Biancone is not worth registering and O'Brien has gone. So that's one left to be cut. Who's getting the five month paid holiday? Surprising Taylor and Cafu are still here. It's not like they're Arter and Zack Clough. Even if we had to pay most of their wages you'd think they could get a move somewhere

It blows my mind that we have signed Navas. I guess we need to get used to these kind of levels now.😁 Amazing.

Toffolo. Colback. Cafu. Biancone. Smith. Taylor. It's rumored Lodi is out for awhile. If so it's Williams until he/Richards is fit. Unless we name Toffolo in place of Dennis. Surprised Colback looks set to miss out. All in all a decent window. Glad we didn't bring in the likes of Gabriel or Brenner. A bit overstocked but it's only 4 months to the summer.

Johnson, Danilo and Williams all count as U21 players this season and you've also missed Kouyate off the squad. So I think if O'Brien is confirmed as heading out (which sounds like it's touch and go) then that means Cafu, Taylor, Arter, Biancone and one other would miss out. Presumably that would be Richards/Kouyate/Niakhate depending on how long they'd be out for. Next season Johnson, Danilo and Williams would count towards the 25 man squad so we should be looking to move on at least 8, not to mention all the players that'll be returning from loan!

Ah that's a relief. So it'll just be Cook then.
At least 3 to go in the summer. That'll be Toffolo, Colback, maybe Dennis. We'll have to axe another defender too to make way for a forward, I guess Mckenna or Worrall.

Oh ye of little faith - we just signed André Ayew on a free 😂

Well I was ready for Everton to announce ayew and I was going to laugh at them as it would appear they were pinning their hopes on him keeping them up. Really don't get this signing, dunno how he fits in at all. Was decent in the championship in his late 20's but signing him at 33 after his contract was terminated in Qatar...
The only saving grace is I fully believe in cooper and he surely feels that ayew can play a part in keeping us up having managed him at Swansea for a number of years. Fully expect him to get a tune out of him but this doesn't look like a progressive signing at all. Bit of a comedown after Navas.
Interested to hear the thoughts of all of you on this? What will be do for us?

After letting the ayew signing sink in for an hour or so I feel slightly more positive about it mainly for the following reasons, but he still has to have some quality about him obviously.
1. It's a 6 month contract and if he intends to carry on playing football after this season he is Gona need to give it some Welly to get a new deal somewhere.
2. He may chip in with a couple of goals by being that number 9 striker in the box that can be there for balls across from wide areas to sweep home. I presume his best attribute may be his positional sense within the 18 yard box to stay between the sticks and knock in balls that are played across to him.
3. He has played with Gibbs white under cooper at Swansea, also played with Shelvey at Swansea, he has also played with kouyate at West ham. So hopefully he can hot the ground running and have that group mentality pretty soon.

I agree Rick. To be brutally honest he'll bring far more to the team than Surridge as a striker or Dennis on the left wing. He has 100+ caps for Ghana and some premier league experience, has a great attitude and knows Cooper well. I dont think he was anyones 1st pick but given where we are with injuries and FFP he's as good as it gets.

In fairness, i thought we needed another more direct winger, but this one's a bit out of left field. Not sure but it's low risk, he's played under Cooper before and could be decent cover while MGW and Lingard are out.
In other news O'Brien, Cook, Richards are out of the 25 Man squad.
Hope O'Briens loan goes through. Ifd be criminal if he couldn't play again this season
Cook... why on earth didn't he get a move? You'd think there would be a queue of clubs wanting him. Is a move to the US on the cards?
Richards - seriously what is going on here. A hair line fracture we didn't spot on his medical had turned into a whole season out injured

I read several Championship sides came in for Cook but he wanted to stay at Forest.
Although at that point he probably didn't realise we were going to sneak in another signing after the deadline and leave him out the squad. Harsh. He deserves better treatment after his contribution to last season.
