Would have definitely took a point before the game ... After the game in all honesty we deserved all 3. Encouraging performance, if we play like that against Southampton then hopefully we can get a few goals. But only if we play like that, we can't drop off!

We looked like a team for the first league match this season. The players know where each other are & how to play to one another.
Unless that 2nd half was just a positive blip, we should pick up quite a few points over the next month.

Two unfortunate spins of the ball off the bar was the sole reason Chelsea got a point. Great result.

Decent first half but much better the second when we was in their faces with every tackle. Unlucky really with their flukey goal and MGW’s shot. It would be nice to get an away win at Southampton and good to see West Ham are having a shocking time

Also I fucking hate it when keepers just stand there and watch the ball with their mouth open - Hendo could have at least made some fucking effort to get across 😡

What the hell was Souness on about though saying sterling did really well to score and that it was a difficult finish?!?!?

Cooper says lingard out for a month, thought Gibbs white did well today, always got faith in him and I believe he will come good as well as being a decent player in the mean time.
Would be happy to see the same team against Southampton. As much as I'm not sure why McKenna isn't playing I thought boly did well today. I thought everyone did well but I feel Boly is one of them that is susceptible to criticism, and I for one questioned before kick off what McKenna had done wrong over recent weeks to not be playing, but he did alright today, apart from the unfortunate own goal obviously

Boly and Aurier did great today against Chelsea. Thought all over the park we looked better as a team. Big difference to any other game I’ve seen this season. Maybe a tiny hope we can compete for the rest of the season and by some miracle stay up.
I definitely agree with Coopers comments. We looked like we gave them too much respect in first half and as a result made bad decisions in the attacking half.
MGW had a fab game and actually looked good going forward. Not sure about Lodi who seemed to give the ball away and mess up a lot of threatening moves. Guess I can’t think of anyone better in the squad. A win would have lifted the team no end but they are so close to 3 points against one of the better sides in this league. That performance against Southampton would get the 3 points

What was Jonno up to on that breakaway? Literally all he had to do was slide it across to Awoniyi for a tap in. Not the first time this season, needs to sort out his decision making.

Initially I thought the same, and like you say numerous times this season he hasn't squared it, twice against Blackburn for example. But I think you have to give credit to Tiago Silva when you watch it back, he makes it really difficult for Brennan to get the ball across. Personally I think Brennan should have cut inside when Silva slid across, that way he could square it or have a free shot on goal

In Johnno’s interview, he explains it by saying that Silva was closing his angle to cross down. That looks really apparent when you see the elevated camera angle. Johnno then apologised for not squaring for Taiwo. I guess if he’d have passed and Silva got a toe to it, the pass was poor or Taiwo fluffed it, we’d be criticising him for not having the bravery to shoot. My biggest concern atm is Lodi. He was often quite poor again. The only positive with him is that he still has a lot more class & quality to offer when it clicks for him. Hopefully sooner than later! When we get that well balanced left side to complement the level of performance yesterday, we’ll look a very competent mid-table team.

Didn’t see all the game, but if that second half team turned up each week I reckon we’ll be okay.

It wasn't that easy too slide it across. Silva very qickly closed down the angle, and Taiwo's run kept Silva between himself and Johnno. Great defending from Silva.
