Well at half time we are leading. But this game is devoid of so much quality! If e came out and played half decent we would win this game 3 or 4 nil.

So edgy this game. Southampton started second half better. We really aren't helping ourselves here and are letting them back in this.

This is by far the most nervous I have felt in a while during these the final stages. To think we haven't come out and played anything half decent this half and have allowed Southampton the chance to get something from this game...

One shot on target in whole game and it was awoniyis tap in. Johnson missed a sitter rattling the bar. Scarpa showed some good touches when he came on and played a very nice curving ball over the top to Williams. But other than that it was a game for worrall and Boly to just head and boot everything that came in the box. The midfield 3 of mangala Yates and freuler looked tired and nervy and lacked any composure and quality. Awoniyi was a handful again but had to go off with a slight limp which may rule him out for a week or so.
Really though if Southampton had anything about them then they would have got something from that game. Good job they were very sloppy in poession but we really did invite that pressure on in the second half and pretty much limped to the finish line just booting the ball down the field and letting them come back to us.

Wouldve liked to see a bit more going forward in the second half, they were there for the taking. But to be fair we defended well.
Worrall and Boly shaping up to be a solid partnership, Aurier immense, Lodi still the weak link. Scarpa showed a few glimmers with his close control and passing.
Need a better option than Surridge off the bench. Good lad just hasnt got the quality and it's always backs to the wall once he's on.

A skewed clearance off boly's shin for example and it could have bee tapped in |

That one where he chested it down and then was pushed down to the floor off the pitch and nothing was given was unbelievable |
