A couple of sources on twitter reporting that awoniyi is out for 'months'. Really hope this isn't the case. Could explain why we are looking for a short term deal for Chris wood though...

As well as Awoniyi
Yates will probably return this weekend Lingard out for probably 2/3 more weeks Henderson out for at least a month I don't think Coopers said much about Koytate, Boly, Niakhate and Richards but don't expect them anytime soon Biancone out for the season
Wood and especially Danjuma would be good additions but perhaps an argument to sign a CB too if Boly is out for a while

We can't sign another central defender just because we've got a few injuries surely? We've got seven already! If Awoniyi is injured, then that's what Dennis is for, or has he been written off already? Wood looks like it's happening though, I've just heard those two boring blokes on Sky Sports who go on on and on and on about transfers talking about it. What the latest on Niakhate? He was supposedly close to being back in training before the World Cup

He can go back to Watford, but no other club in Europe. Richards is the strange one for me. We signed him but didn't realise he had an airline fracture in his leg. This normally takes 6-8 weeks to recover from, yet 5 months later and he's still nowhere near fit.

It depends on Boly and Niakhate really, but if they're out for another 2/3 months then that's an awful lot of games for McKenna and Worrall to play. I wouldn't fancy our chances if one of those got injured/suspended and we had to bring in Cook or Mbe Soh.

Well, no, me neither but that's what they're for isn't it? Nobody is going to be that happy with their fifth or sixth choice player in any position but if they're not able to come in and play a couple of games if needed there seems little point in them even being at the club...
Just had a google and found a recent article, which I couldn't read without an account, but the headline was Niakhate and Richards back in full training in two weeks. Although I seem to remember reading a similar thing a couple of months ago, so I won't hold my breath...

Applying to the Premier League to see if we can re-instate Cook to the 25 man squad due to injuries. I don't hold out much hope, but it does show how desperate we are for central defenders.
It looks like Worrall and Felipe for the forseeable. Poor Felipe.

It does seem a bit stupid that we're paying an experienced central defender to sit about while having none on the bench for the next month or two. Quotes from Cooper make it look like he's quite positive about us being allowed to swap Boly out for Cook.
The whole squad thing just seems a bit of farce. You get one month where you can just play whoever you like, then three when you're limited to just certain players, then a month where it's a free for all again, then for the rest of the season it's limited again but can be an entirely group to the first one. It all just seems a bit of mess.
What's the latest on kouyate? When's he due back?

Just stumbled across a video on YouTube about niakhates injury. It's like a mini documentary from niakhate himself (15 mins long) and sums up his injury and his rehab in Bologne along with fellow team mate Biancone. Quite interesting, give it a watch.
It's on moussa niakhates personal YouTube channel and called 'niakhate's return' and follows him right up to the game against Newcastle on Friday, shame it went the way it did for him.

Neco Williams out for the season with a broken jaw, so that's just the 5 Defenders out Richards, Biancone, Boly, McKenna and Williams.
We'll see what is the situation with Niakhate, while apparently Worrall is carrying a knock. It's been ridiculous this season

The only one who can stay fit is Steve Cook, who sits at home every week so we can get Wood and Shelvey in the squad...
