Unless we put up a big performance like v Liverpool and Man City I cannot see us getting anything from this. If we get well beat it could be the end for Cooper though cant help thinking it is too late to change now. Hope we play a striker but who knows what we will go with?

At l ast united will be without rashford, Martinez, varane. A defeat is the expected result obviously.
Southampton, Everton, Leicester all losing today. A point would be much welcome.

Wolves and Bournemouth look virtually safe though.
Man U will have Casemiro and Eriksen back. Will be tough. But with Rashford out and Lindelof+Maguire in there's hope.
Would like to see Danilo given the nod alongside Mangala and whoever else is fit. Probably Freuler. Praying Niakhate is available. Expecting Williams to get another roasting. Front 3 of Awoniyi, MGW and Jonno.
The injuries have killed us this season.

Fair play to Bournemouth for beating spurs today, it really shows that no game should be a write off
If we're serious about staying up then this is something we need a point/points from, especially given Man Utds injuries (not as bad as us of course)

They look streets ahead of how our team is. Just off the highlights. I looked at the likes of James tavernier who didn't score yesterday but his highlight is where he chops inside beats a couple of men and bends one towards the far too corner, a bit like Antony for united ( who will probs scote one of them today) but it's just a goal threat a wide man doing that, outtara did something similar for their winner. It doesn't seem we have a player who can do that. We haven't looked like creating meaningful chances in a long time and I can't see that changing today. I think the worst 3 teams are the ones in the bottom 3 right now plus united are likely to be boyed by spurs and Newcastle losing yesterday. 0-2

A point would be massive, but we are going to get destroyed, although hopefully less than the 8-1 thrashing last time United came to the City Ground in the league.

All this talking about ready to battle in 8 cup finals til the end of the season, I don’t see much battling when compared to Bournmouth and Wolves. We have no excuses now, on paper we have the players to get out of the drop zone but need to stop fielding the older players who arrived in January who are here for a pension. Cooper has been let down in my opinion by some of the players this season.

0-1
We'd done OK for the first 30 minutes but not taken any of the chances, were denied a penalty and given away another sloppy goal

Our attacking play is abysmal - we literally offer nothing. Johnson and MGW may as well not be out there. Does anyone in Nottingham know what Cooper sees in Frueler?

Awoniyi with a wasteful chance. Should have buried that. Don’t put away clear chances and we give away sloppy goals. How on earth will we be able to survive.

Our midfield is non existent. MGW has been less and less influential towards end of the season.

Should be 5-0. Guess another 3-0 will do Utd. Seen absolutely nothing today to give me hope we can survive, even with Navas’ heroics.

There is literally nothing to be gained by keeping Cooper. We are devoid of ideas and can’t pass the ball 5 yards to our own players
Johnson and MGW have been shocking for weeks

Is Cooper scared to take off MGW or Johnston earlier than 88 minutes as once they are kept quiet we offer nothing. Another mistake leading to there first goal.
Once we are behind some heads go down, just don't know where a win is going to come from.

MGW only taken off on 88th minute as Lingard no doubt has in his contract that he must make an appearance against United unless injured.

I only watched it on my phone while doing a bit of work but again we posed no meaningful presence in the box other than that chance awoniyi blazed over which in our position you have to take let alone get it on target.
I thought we drove forward quite well with numbers and looked dangerous going at them for large parts of the game but we just never seemed to pick the right pass or make the right run to have a decent chance. Think I'm right in saying we didn't have a shot on target... Again?? Something we have seen far too much this season.
I did think our fitness levels looked better. Whether that was with the 3 at the back and different shape we seemed to be a bit more niggly and thought we made some decent challe eggs with the like sof Felipe barging people to the ground and coming away with the ball. But when we got on the half turn and started driving at them we had no ideas of how to break them down.
In all honesty it looked like it could have been 4 or 5. A couple of guilt edge headers missed most notably Fernandez's when he was completely free 8 yards out. Navas made a couple of decent stops and a very good one pushing ferndanes effort onto bar and also we got a ay with that one where Navas parried at full stretch back into 6 yard box and it went straight between 3 on-rushing united players.
Antony did his thing by cutting inside many times and firing shots at Navas' far post like I said he would earlier and him being player with that kind of threat we are desperate for. Thought their second was a good goal, very good slicing pass to put dalot in and that simply is just the difference of having better players with a better strategy that they can pull off.
It's looking increasing likely that our only way out of this predicament is to better Everton's results and at a push maybe hope that Leeds get dragged back into it. Here is the fixtures of ourselves, everton and Leeds and how many points I predict they will get and final point standings also taking into consideration average oppositions maybe not having anything to play for.
Forest - Liverpool A lose, Brighton H lose, Brentford A draw, Southampton H win, Chelsea A lose, Arsenal H lose, Palace A draw
5 points (32)
Everton- Palace A draw, Newcastle H lose, Leicester A win, Brighton A lose, City H lose, Wolves A lose, Bournemouth H draw
5 points (32)
Leeds- Liverpool H lose, Fulham A draw, Leicester H win, Bournemouth A draw, City A lose, Newcastle H lose, West Ham A lose, Spurs H draw
6 points (35)
Result is forest relegated on goal difference.
Obviously there is always the odd weird result but unfortunately I don't see us being one of those teams that will pull something out the bag.

It's easy to point fingers at MGW and Johnson, but perhaps they're tired from carrying the team week in week out.
Freuler, Mangala, Danilo, Shelvey, Scarpa, Lingard have what scored 1 between them and maybe 2/3 assists too.
I don't know if it's a system issue or player issue but the midfield have been poor for most of the season, not offering enough going forward or defensively.
Weve also been completely fleeced over Neco Williams too - 20m FFS?!
It feels like we're at clutching at straws territory. If Yates/Aurier are fit for the run in then we might scrape enough to stay up but I'm afraid I can't see it

We have got so many midfielders that look like they do the exact same job, the likes of freuler, mangala, kouyate, Shelvey, Yates etc ( and I know Yates brings a lot more in other areas) but we don't have one midfielder that can grab the game by the scruff of the game and carry the ball and be a threat. Even from the teams around us or gone up I can think of Harrison reed, paulinha (Fulham) Dwight McNeil, doucoure (Everton) Phillip billing ( Bournemouth), ward prowse (Southampton), Maddison, tieliemans ( Leicester), McKennie, Harrison (Leeds). We don't have anyone Yates adds more than them but can't carry it 20 yards play a one too and smash it in. I guess Gibbs white is the man we were expecting to do that but he's playing as false 9 and no one really is supplying the ball up to him in that position. We saw a bit more of it earlier in season, Gibbs white scored one or 2 from area and couple weeks back v Everton played that 1-2 with wood and shot and we got the rebound. But we have done pretty much bugger all since. We are hedging our bets on Everton being shitter than us but I would much rather be in their position to be honest. Crazy things can happen at the end of the season we just have to hope we can defy the odds.

I think we are more surprised that MGW or Johnston are not subbed earlier if they are making no impact on the team, they seem to be getting marked out of games lately, especially Johnston and nobody else seems capable of stepping up, although I think MGW does let his head go down at times. We need to start cutting out the ridiculous mistakes we continue to make and try and become a more attacking threat, if that means leaving out MGW for another striker or to change things then so be it, but I doubt Cooper would drop him.
