Good signing - we haven’t had 2 decent strikers since Noah was a lad The last I can recall were Harewood and Johnson , Pierre Van H and Campbell ... Been much too long .

Lyle Taylor was meant to join Brentford on deadline day last summer for £4m everything had been agreed but for one reason or another the plug was pulled on the 11th hour. If Brentford were prepared to sign him to go with their attacking player then that's not bad evidence that he should be an alright signing

Think it's more that Taylor refused the little contract extension to finish out the prolonged bit of the season in case he got injured in them 6/7 weeks rather than him refusing to play under his existing contract.

That is exactly what he was reported as saying in the London Press .. He's never had a decent contract and didn't want to risk missing out due to injury .

As much as it's distasteful he's surely well within his rights to reject extending his contract. Especially if he has a move on the horizon that is a big step up. Not as much of a cunt now, welcome Lyle. Who will take pens? He is the lad who just literally walks up and bags everyone, grabban step aside...? It really could get the most out of both strikers with a friendly rivalry/partnership between them

Good signing, I think Colback is too. Both of them improve us which makes a change from the usual signing of 3rd division level players.

Hmmm lets see how this one works out

Thinking about it, refusing to play/contract business aside, it's a decent signing. I see he did play 130 games in three years at Wimbledon so at least he can stay fit, a lot of our signings don't even play that many games in their whole career. I might have a browse round the Charlton forums later, see what went on after lockdown and how highly rated he was. Will report back my findings*
*Or I might not bother. Will be one or the other....

Signing some defender from Greece, Nicholas Ioannou, who came through the ranks at Man Utd. Captained United's reserve team, but wasn't given a contract due to a hip problem. Only 24, which is about 6 years younger than our average signing.
