Ben Gibson wants out, Burnley want him out. Seems the stunning block might be worrall wanting starting 11 assurances. With James tarkowski and Ben mee in front of him in particular as well as Kevin long I don't think you can say worrall will start for Burnley.

Of course he won't start, he'll do the same damage to his career as Gibson has, so is understandably cautious.
Todays news - Forest linked to two young Portuguese players I've never heard of. Silva linked with Olympiakos. Watson looks like he has left the club.

We seem to be heavily linked with a couple of Benfica players. Hopefully this time they're of the variety of Portuguese players that Wolves signed rather than what we've signed.

I like Silva but looking at the cold stats, he scored four and had four assists and played nearly every game. If we're going to be playing the same system and he doesn't go to Olympiakos, he needs to not be the no.10 player.

Yeah you are right. Those stats aren't anywhere good enough compared to the perception I think we share of him, A good grafter that gets stuck in and is very good at winning the ball and coming out with it to get play going. Doesn't appear to be a goalscoring midfielder like we thought he might be. Looks to be a better player further back in our team next to colback or sow. These benfica players we are linked with come with a lot of hype, but hype in their native country Ying their trade in a completely different style of league doesn't mean much to how they will be in the championship. If an arsenal or United signed them I'm sure they would look like a normal signing to them but the championship is unique in itself, if we are going to sign these 'continental wonderkids' that are just going to get bullied off the park then there is no point.

Looks as though we're going to sign a French centre back ( Peybernes ) so maybe Worral will not be leaving to Burnley ..... This player is also wanted by Swansea so perhaps he's capable of playing the ball out from the back ??

Blackett, worrall, figgy, peybernes, Dawson, hefele, benalouane (, u can pretty much right off the last 2) but something has to give. Worrall out and peybernes in doesn't sound like an upgrade on the face of it. Would much rather Gibson and less money for worrall. Unless we are going to reinvest the relatively big fee we get for worrall on a inside forward,/winger. Still we need 2 very good starting centre backs.

Now some 30 year old from Sweden who spent most of his best years at Greenock Morton.
Always the same just journeyman after journeyman when it comes to anything creative
What is the point of having Taylor and Grabban if they have no service

Always the same just journeyman after journeyman when it comes to anything creative What is the point of having Taylor and Grabban if they have no service Reportedly paying 600 grand for him Jamie. I know money is tight, but I'd have thought we'd be setting our sights a little higher. I'd prefer us to sell one of our better players and invest that money in a couple of signings that would make a big difference on the pitch. Fed up of us signing players no one's ever heard of. Problem is, could we trust our recruitment team to deliver? Last season's signings leave a lot to be desired. There's probably only Brice Samba who was worth signing......and he's rumoured to have been a very naughty boy towards the end of the season. He wasn't injured, but dropped....RUMOURED. Please, no one point to Sow as a quality signing. He's fucked. Forever injured, and even doubtful he'll be fit for the start of the season.

Well fuck my old boots why cannot you miserable bastards give the guy a chance to proove his worth , or otherwise , before slagging him off ?? He might well be shoite but if he's played regularly for Malmo in the Europa League then that's highly unlikely .....

You can't expect the transfer thread to be very optimistic when 90% of our signings are, at best, totally pointless. I prefer the negative responses to the deranged optimism that sometimes appeared on here when we'd sign a mix of known dopes like Traore and Bendtner and random punts like Soudani and there'd be a load of posts like 'Great signing' 'We're really going for it this season' etc.
Although I do have a complaint of my own. What's with all the mystery? Why are people just posting clues now? What's with 'two young Portuguese players', 'couple of Benfica players', and '30 year old from Sweden who spent most of his best years at Greenock Morton'. Do any of these people have names? I can't even moan about them if I don't know who they are......

I try and defend the clubs transfers but these sound awful. Peybernes and Bachirou are two 30 year old European journeymen. They're going to either be shipped off to Olympiakos in a year or run down four year contracts in the reserves.
Also - aside from the quality of the signings, don't we have enough CBs (5?) and DMs (3?) at the club?

Henrik johansen Swedish journalist's brief report on Fouad Barichou to Sarah Clapson:
' Know him quite well from Scandinavian football. A very hard working player, very good technique And skills in fast tempo. A total team player. Set up goals and scores some. Never injured and will be a strong member in your squad. A little working machine in midfield'
Took a lot of inspiration from Claude Makelele when he was younger in the psg youth set up. Sounds like he will be a little terrier in front of the back 4. Like I said before not a signing that gives me immediate optimism but after the past few years of foreign signings I've decided to try hard not to judge anyone before they have come in and played in the Garibaldi. Yes we have a lot of defensive midfielders at the mo but odds are Watson is leaving, still not sure what the crack is with Silva. But it's going to be the most compact season we have ever had and we need depth in this team. 9 games in a month over the Christmas period.
If he signs then welcome Fouad.
Reports that it will be a 2 year deal with an optional year.

Does nothing going forward and gets caught out of position. Ameobi - Ok on his day, but those days are few and far between. Still one of our better signings last season. Silva - That good we're shipping him out after one season under Lamouchi. Some of the others..... Bong - one game and never seen or heard of him again. Diakhaby - Awful, just awful Da Costa - that good a striker that we've had to sign another one. Sorry mate, but even the most optimistic of our fans have to admit that our recruitment policy, on the whole, is just not good enough.
