If hughton turned bong around we may aswel call him Jesus.
Apparently hughton has turned down a few jobs over the past 6 months.. sorry I'm paraphrasing but my dad said he heard someone that was close to hughton talking in talksport this evening. The fella wouldn't mention which clubs had approached hughton. The presenter guessed ' Bristol city' the fella replied ' clubs much bigger than that'

Anyone subscribe? theathletic.co.uk/2094888/2020/10/06/nottingham-forest-sabri-lamouchi-evangelos-marinakis-sacked/Sabri Lamouchi should probably have known he was vulnerable after the Zoom call that Nottingham Forest’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, had arranged with the players ahead of the new season. It was September 8 when the players logged on to find out what Marinakis wanted to say. The season was just a few days away and, as they waited for Marinakis to appear on screen, the expectation was that the Greek oligarch wanted to give them a few words of support. Yet what they heard that day made it absolutely clear that Lamouchi — sacked today after losing every game so far this season — was under considerable pressure and that Marinakis’ patience was wearing thin, to say the least. Marinakis was angry. A few days earlier, Forest had gone out of the EFL Cup with a vapid 1-0 defeat at Barnsley. It brought back unhappy memories for Lamouchi and his players. They had lost at Barnsley, then bottom of the Championship, during the spectacular collapse...

Points to this article but lays bare in the responses how amateurish and toxic things are behind the scenes. Awful atmosphere and morale of everyone is in the ground. Ambitious but amateurish seems to sum it up.

Aside from any other problems, morale's never going to be great when the turnover of players is always so high. Imagine turning up for pre-season training to find you don't even recognise half half the squad and some of your mates are now loaned/frozen out and don't even have squad numbers. Then the same thing happens next season. And the next. And the next.....
Anyway, Chris Hughton then. I'm happy enough with that. I turned on Sky Sports News yesterday and just saw ..."replacing Sabri Lamouchi" go past on the scrolling bar at the bottom, had to wait for it to come round again to find out who it was. I was prepared for some random goon I'd never heard of so Hughton came as a huge relief. Hopefully the first thing he'll do is address the size of the squad and disastrous, yet continuous, transfer policy. Clearly nobody else is going to deal with it so it's down to him and until someone addresses this anything else just seems irrelevant.

BHAFC fan here : Your club could not have landed a better manager in Chrissy Hughton too take you forward with potential promotion too the Premier league , many of us Albion fans were gutted when he was sacked . The only negative about him I could say is that he is very defense minded sometimes but don’t let that worry u too much he will get u up more than anybody else top bloke good luck for the season.

Cheers for the feedback. Was he as defensive when you were in the championship? Or was it just a consequence of coming up against better sides in the Premier league?

Most optimistic (trying not to confuse this with excited) that I've felt for years and years. I might even renew my season card... I'll certainly pay the £10 to watch the Blackburn game

I've given this news time to digest and I'm quite upbeat. Obviously, the shit show going on behind the scenes needs to be addressed, but no one is really sure what that will take except the staff at the club's highest level.
We'll have to see how Hughton gets the team playing, but I fucking hope it isn't with one player up front.

I don't mind 1 upfront, as long as others are able to get up and around him so he doesn't get isolated. Starting with 3 defensively minded midfielders as we have done just leaves the frontman alone and we never look like creating chances. Most sides play with 1 upfront nowadays, not saying we have to but it just about the mindset of the team shifting to being more attacking and committing men forwards.

As most teams play a 5 man midfield, 4-4-2 would leave us a man short in midfield. 4-1-4-1 would suit, with two good wingers, and two more midfielders supporting the striker. Hughton has been known to favour 4-3-3 in the past. I can't wait for the Blackburn game. It's the first time in ages I've been looking forward to a Forest game.

No point in sacking the manager without getting rid of the chairman.

If the report from the athletic is true ( which I imagine it is) then you could put klopp in charge and it wouldn't make much difference. The ethos and philosophy of people behind the scenes needs to change drastically, hoping hughton as 'manager' was the start of the change. Yes fuck all has changed in the pitch but I think we just scrap this season, it's a write off. Let's just try and stay up and put plans in place for improvements in every area next season. Instead of hiring and firing the board need to look at their own conduct and recruitment. Best thing they could say to hughton and the squad now is forget the prem, forget play offs just calm down and play football and let's be in this division next year

Why would you sign 13 players and the day after the window closes sack the manager - this club is being run exactly the same as when Fawaz was in charge I am just meh about Hughton - lots of people see him as a boring defensive manager which is exactly like the 3 managers we had before him He will be gone by the same time next year because he has been forced to take a load of players he probably didn’t want Just so fucking fed up with the stupid way things are done at the club I would sack him tonight as I cannot see where a goal is omjng from let alone a win Today at 2 nil down surely you would go with a back 3 but this silly old cunt takes off Taylor for Swan To me he looks like a little confused old man is his old man off white shirts and this surely be his last job in the game. He is to out of touch and should be put in the scrap heap along with his dinosaur tactics I wish Maranakis would fuck off and take Kyriakos Dourekas and Francois Modesto with him The club is no better than under Fawaz - rotten from top to bottom

It literally is difficult to imagine where there could be a next goal when the threat is as close to non existant as its possible to get. How scary is that.

The only possible threat is Taylor getting something scrappy in the box. Everyone else looks like they can't hit a fucking barn door, not that we have enough shots to even say they can't. Each game I just pray that something clicks and everyone starts making runs off people and we play one touch triangles and through balls but it's a fucking world away

The manager for some reason is not getting them playing we are showing fuck all now going forward only going to end one way him getting the sack and lets be honest hes got enough players to pick from we look lack of ideas all over the pitch is boring to watch The opposite tactics get a goal game over
