SOD gives an insight to working under Fawaz, and his time at the club.
I still to this day do not understand the thinking behind sacking him.

I don’t know, without the hiring and firing policy we wouldn’t have seen progress...oh wait a minute.

Can’t understand the reasoning for his sacking. Maybe it’s because O’Driscoll wouldn’t join Fawaz upstairs for his London meets?

Judging by the bits in the interview there generally wasn’t any actual thinking going on at the club. It seems Ruprecht was just letting his couple of brain cells bang into each other. Like the bit about him apparently also being a massive Man Utd fan. So much for Forest being his big footballing love. With each passing day I become more convinced that flash house with the big Forest mural belonged to someone else.

Thinking back we had a decent side under SOD. Certainly better and more watchable than what we've got now.

Thinking back we had a decent side under SOD. Certainly better and more watchable than what we've got now. On paper I'd say it was piss poor, thrown together in a matter of days when we barely had enough players signed to field a side. Goes to show you can have a team of journeymen that can sometimes just gel and a Manager with a plan. Look at our team now and man for man 1 to 11 I bet today's is 'supposedly' much stronger. But.......

Looking back though, was this the period we had the likes of Jonathan Greening Matt Derbyshire Ishmael Miller and Marcus Tudgay. I guess on paper they were fairly big names that alot more was expected of, much like today and the signings who have already had their day in the sun.

I dunno. We had Reid, Cohen, McGugan, Lansbury, Guedioura at his best and Jenas brought in on loan. Then Cox and Sharp up front with Henderson as the battering ram plan B. Blackstock was still around too.
The defence was a bit thrown together though I'll grant you.

I wish the old forest forum was accessible, so I could peruse my weekly rants on the arab scumbag.

Yep you are right Savo, was just reading an article by SOD on Lewis McGugan where he spoke about that midfield, pretty awesome really. The mists of time make you forget. May have actually been the best opportunity in 20 years.
